hung out with my homiez in Minneapolis for a week. We got
drunk and debaucherous for the majority of it, but that's
exactly what I wanted. Two forties later and I'm floating
naked in lake Calhoun worshiping the full moon. Eight shots
of whiskey later and I'm running as fast as I can through
the seemingly stagnant flesh at the state fair, rolling down
their hills, eating their cookies, and cursing their names.
"I hope yarrr going to make this ride exceptionally brutal..."
However he was in no mood for games (why was he
a carny?) So I took my seat and had the time of my life
just to spite their dead pan stares, swinging closer at
each turn of the machine. Yes sir, I was the queen of the fair.
I went to this particularly disgusting faction called "The Miracle
of Birth". It included all imaginable farm animals in tiny cages, under
florescent lights, giving birth in front of a swarming, jeering
crowd of neanderthals. I watched a charming video of a
cow giving birth. First they disinfect the dirty, disgusting
vagina. After that, just as the placenta starts to come out,
they slit it open and reach in to grab the calf's ankles. Then
they attach chains and promptly pull it out. Ta Da! The
miracle of birth! We have a crowd to please, no sense in
waiting for miracles after all. The kids are bored. Can't we
just hurry up and grant life already? hahah. Of course we can.
One 6 day old forty later and I'm driving back to Bemidji at 2am
oil-less and on empty, but it sure beats miracles.
A few days ago I slept on the beach. Watching the stars (I know a
few more constellations now) and a quarter moon rising bloody
over the water. When I woke up everything was soaked in
fog and a crayfish had crawled up as close as possible to me
in the water. It was perfect. Just what I had been needing.
Then later that day Alex and I went for a 30 mile bike ride all over
Bemidji. We had a picnic on the Mississippi consisting of peanut
butter and apple butter sandwiches. And when we finally left
the river it started to get dark so we ended up getting back
just as it became too dark to see. The best summer day.
Welp, two more weeks and I'll be enjoying fires day and night.
and two more months and I'll be enjoying Carrboro, North Carolina.
Which apparently is an amazing town. Alex and I are really, really
excited to live there. Estatic in fact! Ahhhh!
